First, we take the racks you cook on and place them in a commercial steamer behind our truck for about an hour. Then we use a scraper to jar loose char and debris inside the grill. Then we use a shop vac to vacuum out all the char and soot inside the grill, improving the airflow under the burners. Then we use a pick to clean out all the tiny holes where gas is released from the burners. Even when the burners are working well, there is normally an improvement in their performance.
Then we use a steel sponge to remove grease buildup and brighten up the areas where the stainless steel can be revived. After that, we scrub the cooking grates that have been soaking in the steamer until they are smooth. Then, we empty the grease pan and put it all back together. Finally, we apply a stainless steel polish to the exterior of the grill.
